SQL Server 2005 SP3 CTP Announced!

2008 November 1

So finally the clamor (I’m exaggerating) for SQL Server 2005 SP3 is finally heard! Four days ago SQL Server 2005 SP3 CTP has been announced. An earlier announcement gave us a heads up.

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 (SP3) contains all the cumulative updates for SQL Server 2005, and fixes to issues that have been reported through our customer feedback platforms. These include supportability enhancements and issues that have been reported through Windows Error Reporting.

There’s not a lot of new changes though. You can find the “Here’s-What-New List” here. This SQL Server 2005 SP3 CTP release is Version 9.00.4028.00.

But please note that this SQL Server 2005 SP3 CTP is “ meant for testing purposes only” (Nosheen Syed, Lead Program Manager - SQL Server Sustained Engineering).

You can now download the SQL Server SP3 CTP here. Remember this release of SQL Server SP3 CTP IS MEANT FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY. Visit the Microsoft SQL Server Release Services blog for related news regarding this announcement.
